Artist Bio

Connie Rock is a seasoned traveler who has taken photographs for 25 years and traveled to more than 30 countries throughout the world. As a locally exhibited photographer and nationally published freelance writer with a master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University, she has been fascinated with photography ever since borrowing her father's Nikon when she was a teenager. She lives in Seattle, with her husband Scott and their two ragdoll cats, Boo-Boo and Bongo. Travel and cycling are passions, as is photography.

Philosophy

Each picture is a privilege and an inspiration--an opportunity to learn and to see the world through fresh eyes. Connie's photography covers a wide range of subjects and interests: the landscape, athletics, portraiture, architecture, world cultures, and wildlife. She enjoys experimenting with both realistic and abstract approaches, and in her work, she strives to always respect and convey the unique personalities of her subjects.

Connie believes that photography can and should evoke a wide range of emotions, and for areas of the world where conditions are desperate, photographic images can serve as a call to positive action, bringing to attention conditions that need our involvement for positive change.

Connie's goals in establishing World Words and Images are to communicate global understanding, cultural awareness, connection, diversity, and beauty. She practices photography with integrity and joy, and as a positive medium for change.
